Urban decay born to run ซ อด ม ย

Urban Decay recently released their ‘Born To Run’ collection, which includes an eyeshadow palette, 3 lipsticks, 3 eyeliners and a mini setting spray. The collection is available at Ulta, Sephora, Nordstrom and Macy’s.

I’ve only used the palette a few times so far so I’m not ready to do a proper review yet but I wanted to post swatches and give you my first impressions awhile since Ulta has a 20% coupon (check your email) that’s good until June 30.

After trying the shadows a handful of times, I’ve got to say… I’m impressed! It’s the best Urban Decay palette that I’ve tried in quite some time. Actually now that I’m thinking about it, it might be my favorite UD palette ever. I like Naked Heat. I used Naked 3 constantly when it first came out. Electric palette is a classic. I love Moondust but it’s def a companion palette. What else did I like… Vice 3? So yeah it’s a little too soon to say for sure (especially considering that I haven’t even used every shade yet) but there’s a good chance that it’s my favorite UD palette.

Okay so let’s start with the packaging. We all know that UD loves some bulky packaging so I was thrilled by this compact design. It’s still a good sized palette but it’s sleek and there’s very little wasted space. Also the mirror is huge. The only thing negative is that the mirror doesn’t stand up on it’s own. It lays flat unless you prop it against something.

The palette includes twenty one eyeshadows that are .02oz/.8g each for a total weight of 16.8g. It works out to about $2.90 per gram which is a pretty good value for a mid to high end brand. The color scheme feels more autumnal than summer to me but I like the mix of neutrals and colors and warm and cool tones. I would’ve preferred a few more mattes but there’s a number of satins that work nicely as crease colors (Good As Gone, Jet, Radio etc). Breakaway is a warm ivory with subtle shimmer

Stranded is a light metallic gold

*Blaze is a light yelloe with peachy pink reflects. It reminds me of MUG I’m Peachless

Weekender is a light matte beige. It’s basically the same color as my skin so it doesn’t show up well on my arm.

Still Shot is a matte orangey coral

*Riff is a camel brown with a matte finish.

Good As Gone is a deep plummy brown. It has subtle shimmer but it looks matte on the eyes.

Hell Ride is a berry toned matte. It reminds me of ABH Love Letter

Baja is a matte red orange.

Accelerate is a metallic copper

Guilt Trip is a rich, metallic purple

Ignite in an amber gold metallic

*Smog is an antique bronze metallic

Wanderlust is a forest green with subtle gold shimmer

Wildheart is a metallic magenta with blue shimmer

Double Life is a chocolate brown metallic

Drift is a deep, metallic gunmetal

Radio is a satiny blue gray

Big Sky is a shimmery blue green

I’m very impressed with the quality and versatility of the palette. The only reason that I hesitate to recommend it 100% is due to the number of UD products ending up on the Sephora sale page recently. I’m pretty sure that it’s a permanent item which means that it’s less likely to go on clearance but it’s certainly not impossible. I don’t know about you, but I feel personally victimized when I see makeup that I bought at full price go on sale. I’ll probably swatch the eyeliners and lipsticks next week. It’s supposed to rain all weekend and I need sunlight to take good pics.
