พล.อ.ประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา ผู้บัญชาการทหารบก ให้สัมภาษณ์ถึงกรณีที่รายการ “ตอบโจทย์”ทางสถานีโทรทัศน์ไทยพีบีเอส ตอน “สถาบันพระมหากษัตริย์ภายใต้รัฐธรรมนูญ”ได้มีการแสดงความคิดเห็นของนาย สมศักดิ์ เจียมธีรสกุล และนายสุลักษณ์ ศิวรักษ์เกี่ยวกับเรื่องการปฏิรูปสถาบันว่า ในความเห็นของทหารนั้น เรามีมุมมองของเรา เพราะเราเป็นทหารในพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ท่านทรงเป็นจอมทัพไทย ในความรู้สึก ตนเข้าใจสถานการณ์ของประเทศชาติในวันนี้ว่า มีความเปลี่ยนแปลงไปมากพอสมควร สิ่งหนึ่งคิดว่า ทหารทุกคนมีความรู้สึกเหมือนกันคือ สถาบันพระมหากษัตริย์ได้ทำคุณประโยชน์ให้ประเทศไทยเป็นเวลานาน

anti-monarchist (people favouring the abolition of the monarchy)
ไล่ออกนอกประเทศ – to tell someone to leave the country. (Normally ล่ออก would mean to expell or chase out, but this is reported speech. For example, if my little grandson came in the living room soaking wet from the rain, I would tell him to take a shower and get changed. Then when my mother came in and asked for him, I would tell her in Thai that
“...โดนฝนมาเปียกทั้งตัว...ฉันไล่ให้ไปอาบน้ำแล้ว”.

Army chief blasts anti-monarchists, suggesting they should leave the country
General Prayuth Chan-ocha said the anti-monarchists should leave the country, indicating that (while) the Tob Jote TV programme could be on air, it (it's content) was inappropriate. He blasted as absurd the focus on
amending Section 112 (of the Criminal Code), insisting that the majority of the people still love the king.
Army chief Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha commented in an interview concerning the episode of Thai PBS’s Tob Jote TV programme entitled "The institution of the monarchy under the constitution" which featured the opinions of Somsak Jeamteerasakul and Sulak Sivaraksa on reform of the monarchy that in the military’s opinion, we have our own point of view because we are soldiers of
the king He is our supreme commander in our feelings. I understand the country’s situation has changed quite a lot these days. One thing where I think every soldier has the same feeling is that the monarchy has provided benefits for Thailand for a long time."
